I'g basically starting this thread as i take not seen many users of this tablet and my main purposes are:
ane) to look for users of the aforementioned tablet so we can pool our knowledge together as we go along this somewhat new and rare device
2) i would like to root the device and i haven't seen anyone post any guides nonetheless for this device. FYI, i have already updated to Nougat seven.0 o the device. So far, all the guides i've seen are for Marshmallow.
i hope i tin get some members to reply to my thread and, hopefully, have a running thread here in XDA... hoping that in the future we could become someone to develop a new ROM when Samsung decides to stop ship OTA updates.

I'm a little disheartened to meet so few subscribers to this thread but here goes:
I'thou trying to root my SM-P585Y using Odin and flashing TWRP recovery. Everything'due south fine until the step where I have to boot from Download Style into Recovery Manner. Instead of going into the normal recovery screen, my screen but goes blank occasionally displaying a few random lines or vibrating when I button random buttons trying to get some sort of response. I tin get information technology dorsum into Download Style by pressing "Book Down + Power + Home" simply that's about it. I've essentially lost Recovery Manner, and a regular reboot from Download Mode by pressing Volume Downward but takes me dorsum to the blank screen with random lines.
Any ideas on what to do?

The TWRP device tree of P585Y is from MM. If your tablet is android viii.1, it'll cause error. Just flash stock rom or stock recovery to fix it. If you desire to root, merely use magisk.

Extract kicking.img from stock rom file. Just apply Magisk manager app to patch the boot.img. And then rename generated file to boot.img and shrink information technology to tar file. Finally wink the file with odin in AP.

This method works with oreo stock rom.
If y'all want twrp, downgrade to android vi.0
If i rooted my device (P585), with this method that patch kick.img with magisk, i'll utilize adoptable storage or only in twrp mode?

I already tried to install the T585/T580 ROMs, but it doesn't piece of work.
